Hey there, this is my BD page and maybe a couple other corp clips will be on here, and thanks to my new 20mb account with Fortune City, I can fit most of the clips I want on here w/o having to change the format (except for the big files, there is a 1mb limit per file, so those will be zipped. For those of you w/o an unzip utility here is WinZip for Windows 95 and WinZip for Windows 3.x.). I have gotten most of my clips now in MP3 format, and Fortune City does not allow those, therefore those too will have to be zipped. Sorry for the inconvenience.
The Concord Blue Devils
'90
Solo- 10 seconds of the Tommy solo in '90. You know, one of the best descriptions ever given to me for this show was by a friend who said "That year, the show was like Ram '95 the entire way through." And for those of you who have seen it know that this is true, there are few drummers who could probably hang with this show now, and to those of you who can, the more power to you. (74Kb MP3)
'92
60sec ram- '92 on field warm-up Robby Bucks into Chug patterns. (328Kb ZIP/MP3)
'93
Accent excercise- accent excercise from '93. (80.7Kb ZIP/MP3)
Robby Bucks- Robby Bucks into chug pattern, drastic slow down compared to '92. (322Kb ZIP/MP3)
Book- Part of the '93 show, forgive me that I don't know the songs but I know it's from the show. (87.6Kb ZIP/MP3)
Closer- Closer to '93 show, very nice. (298Kb WAV)
'94
Accent taps- BD playing an accent tap excercise. (138Kb WAV)
Accent taps- Same excercise, twice as fast. (128Kb WAV)
Flam Accents- Flam accent height taps. (104Kb ZIP/MP3)
Shopping Spree- BD '94 Shopping Spree. (112Kb ZIP/MP3)
Ditty (bass only)- This is the basses by themselves playing the 60s ram but it's not the full ram, it starts a little bit before the sixduplet run. (320Kb WAV)
Ditty- Snares only. (323Kb ZIP/MP3)
Ditty (full line)- Here is the '94 line playing the famous Ditty. Personally, I think '94 was their best line ('96 is close). (436Kb ZIP/WAV)
Ditty (3 snares)- Here's a rare clip I came upon. It's the 3 center snares not including Roger Carter (who was center) playing Ditty apparently after they had just learned it. Check out the weird and different ending. (547Kb ZIP/WAV)
Spanish Fantasy I- First notes played by the snare line in the show, a bold part and attention grabber. (56Kb ZIP/MP3)
Spanish Fantasy I- Same place as the one above, but written differently, I have heard several variations on this opener. (75Kb WAV)
Opener- Opener to the '94 show. (326Kb WAV)
Night Streets- Opener of Night Streets (I think this was the orignal part and it was changed by Finals. (115Kb WAV)
???- I have no idea what part of the show this is from. I've never been able to pick it out from the field. (131Kb WAV)
Night Streets- Busy snares. (86Kb WAV)
Day Danse- I have to say that Day Danse is my favorite piece that the Blue Devils have ever played. This clip is in the beginning of the song (Very Busy). (150Kb WAV)
Day Danse- The above clip with ensemble (pit). (155Kb WAV)
Day Danse- This is the solo that the snares play on the plastic heads during the show, except they don'thave the heads on here. I'd post the music for this but I don't have a scanner. (179Kb WAV)
Day Danse- This clip is where they are leading up to the famous, spotless roll. (156Kb WAV)
Day Danse- Spotless roll with the horn hits. SPOTLESS!!!!! Did I mention spotless? :) (43.4Kb WAV)
Day Danse- Closer of Day Danse. I absolutely LOVE this clip. (195Kb WAV)
Spanish Fantasy IV- clip from SF IV (61Kb ZIP/MP3)
Spanish Fantasy IV- Last solo from the line in the show, very nicely written and played. (175Kb ZIP/MP3)
'95
I have to say a little something about the '95
show. Even thought they took 3rd at finals this year, this year
will always hold a special place in my heart. It is the first
Blue Devil show I ever saw and it blew me away. These are some of
the hardest parts I've ever heard and I think this line deserves
a lot of respect for pulling it off. This year will remain in my
top 3 favorite years forever. Also, there are so many different
songs played, I only remember them by section and not by name.
Shopping Spree- '95 shopping spree. (196Kb WAV)
Ditty- '95 line playing Ditty (343Kb ZIP/MP3)
Opener- Opening split buzzes to the show, this is pure genius at work. (326Kb ZIP/WAV)
Opener- Same buzz split but full ensemble. (215Kb ZIP/MP3)
Opener- Very busy piece of the music with hurtas everywhere. (178Kb ZIP/MP3)
Commencement Caribe- Tenor solo from hell, Scott said that he wrote this like it was a individual solo. IT'S BAD ASS. (144KB ZIP/MP3)
'98
13th Hour- Here it is, the, as Scott Johson put it, "New Ditty". Composed by Roger Carter, it's actually two excercises thrown together. The first half is "Brain Damage" then goes into the "13th hour". It's hard to explain where it switches excercises, but it does (I've actually seen the music for "Brain Damage, so it does exsist). Anyway, there's no words to describe this excercise, it must be heard. (221Kb ZIP/MP3).
'94 drum solo- They be groovin'. (364Kb WAV)
'95 solo- This is a bad ass solo. DO NOT MISS THIS ONE. (471Kb ZIP/WAV)
Please forgive me, but I do not
know any of SCV's stuff, so I cannot tell
which part of the shows these are or where they're are played in
the show. But the'yer
still fucking cool to listen too!
SCV Cadence- The ever popular cadence. (573Kb ZIP/MP3)
SCV Cadence(tenors)- Cadence with the tenors only. (475Kb ZIP/MP3)
SCV 87- Not much I can say for this clip, you have to hear it for yourself, it's bad ass (nice tenor scrape). (429Kb WAV).
SCV 89- Again, not much I can say about this clip. It's part of the show including the whole corp. Nice roll at the end. (232Kb WAV).
SCV89- Nice rolls (279Kb WAV).
SCV90- Dramatic improvement over the above 3 clips! These clips rock! Awesome cheesed-inverts too. (249Kb WAV).
SCV90- Bad ass tenor solo, do not miss! (153 Kb WAV).
SCV91- Chinese theme this year? I wouldn't know. These are some cool parts, I believe this is the year Scott Johnson started working with them, it sure sounds like his writing. (238Kb WAV).
SCV91- Closer? Kick ass accelerando into impact hits at the end. (241Kb WAV).
SCV97- BAD ASS WARM-UP. I FUCKEN LOVE THIS THING! NEVER HEARD A BETTER GROOVE. BASSES TEAR THE SHIT OUT OF IT! (128Kb ZIP/MP3).
98 60sec- 60sec warmup from 98 season. It's no Ditty or 13th Hour, but it's cool in its own right. Sounds like a real fuckin chop burner (diddles all over the place!). (285Kb ZIP/MP3).
